Barunga Festival - 2025
TEABBA visits Barunga

The Barunga Festival held between the Kings Birthday long weekend 6th - 9th June, brought together over 4,000 people for a weekend of unforgettable music, culture, and connection in the heart of the Northern Territory. Hosted on Bagala Country, Barunga is a vibrant celebration of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians coming together to honour culture, country, and community. This year’s festival saw an incredible line-up of music, featuring artists like Thelma Plum, YUNG MILLA, and East Journey, alongside cultural performances from groups like the Tiwi Dancers and Red Flag Dancers. TEABBA Radio was there, broadcasting live from the Ms Jedda Truck, capturing the heart of the festival with live music, community stories, and conversations that resonated across the Top End. Barunga continues to be a powerful showcase of the strength and creativity of remote communities, offering a rare and authentic opportunity to connect with First Nations culture while celebrating unity and pride. A huge thank you to everyone who made this year’s festival unforgettable — we’re already looking forward to next year!
